Allwyn, which won a 10-year contract to operate the National Lottery last February at the end of a controversial process, continues to pursue an ambitious growth path.
Having recently snapped up a majority stake in Novibet, Allwyn has confirmed its Q4 revenue was up by 10%, rising from the 2023 figure of €2.2 billion to reach €2.4 billion.
Full-year revenue for 2024 increased by 12%, rising from €7.9 billion to €8.8 billion while adjusted EBITDA was up by 12% in the year’s final three months.
Furtnermore, Allwyn runs the Czech lottery, SAZKA, and lotteries in countries like Greece and Austria.
Record Financial Performance
Allwyn previously said in its Q3 results that revenues were up by 7%, indicating that the company’s growth plans are working well.
Chief executive of Allwyn, Robert Chvatal, said that 2024 was another 12 month-period of “record financial performance and strategic progress” for the firm.
He said: “With respect to strategic bolt-on acquisitions, we were pleased to complete our planned investment in a 70% interest in Instant Win Gaming in September and our expansion efforts were further bolstered by our agreement in December to acquire a 51% stake in Logflex MT Holding Limited, the owner of the growing online sports betting and gaming group Novibet.”
“Both transactions are in line with our strategy of making selective acquisitions in relevant products, technologies and content to support our future growth. During the year we also saw a small increase in our interest in OPAP, as a result of its share buyback programme.”
Chvatal also looked to the future, hailing the strong foundations that Allwyn had laid.
He added: “The new year has started well, and Allwyn is well positioned for 2025 and for the next chapters of its growth story.”
Gaming Activities Improving
While Allwyn retains a strong focus on lotteries, the company is branching out into other areas.
Within the latest set of financial results, the firm said its revenue from gaming activities rose 10% year-on-year, reflecting positive performance across the board.
Allwyn has also recently formed a new official global partnership with the 2024 F1 Constructors’ Champions, the McLaren F1 Team.
As a result of the new deal, Allwyn’s name will be featured on McLaren’s race cars throughout the new season and on the overalls of team drivers Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri.
Motorsport is a significant target area for Allwyn in 2025 and beyond, with the company having also secured a multi-year deal with Formula 1.
