Construction of New Las Vegas Production Facility is Already Underway

Retail casino technology manufacturer Everi Holdings has announced it will be ceasing the manufacturing of gaming machines at its current base in Texas and will instead shift all production to a single new facility located in Las Vegas, Nevada.

This shift will be one of consolidation, seeing as the business already produces all of its self-service fully integrated cash access kiosks, loyalty kiosks and other FinTech products in Las Vegas. The production of these goods, along with their assembly and distribution, will also be moved to the new 182,500 square foot site, along with the manufacturing of all of its gaming machines.

The new Las Vegas factory facility will also feature areas to co-locate lab facilities for both Everi Holdings’ games and FinTech businesses, along with service and customer installation teams and administrative staff, while still keeping some space available for future expansion.

The shift of the company’s FinTech production to the upcoming Las Vegas facility is expected to take place not long after construction on the site is completed, which already seems to be underway. Current production of gaming machines is based in Austin, Texas at the time of writing, and will transition in gradual phases over the next six months after construction in Las Vegas is done.

35 Employees at Former Texas Facility Being Offered to Move to New Las Vegas Facility

Important to note is that the 35 employees who are set to be affected by the transition of Everi’s production from Texas to Las Vegas will be offered the chance to relocate to the new Las Vegas facility. As an alternative, they’ll also have the chance to apply for other positions within the company. Everi specified that it predicts the planned closure and exit costs, relocation, employee retention, and other related expenses to amount to $4.5 million in 2023.

Everi president and chief executive Randy Taylor explained that the need to streamline its production capacities became evident after extensive reviews and assessments:

“As we assessed our near- and long-term operational needs, it was clear that streamlining all of our manufacturing, assembly and distribution processes into a single facility designed to our specifications would best serve the needs of our large and growing casino customer base.”Randy Taylor, President and Chief Executive, Everi Holdings,Press Release

Taylor continued to explain the benefits of consolidating all of Everi’s manufacturing processes in Las Vegas, while also expressing praise and respect for the efforts of its Austin-based workers:

“Having all of our FinTech and Gaming products assembled and shipped from one new, modern, environmentally friendly facility in Las Vegas will provide for operational efficiencies while also helping us continue to meet our goals of providing excellent customer service throughout the entire product ordering process. We have the highest regard for our Austin employees who will be impacted by this initiative. We greatly value their contributions and will strive to make any transition as painless as possible.”
