Lottery.com Predicts It Will Begin Widespread Ticket Sales in May 2023

A sweepstakes win: Lottery.com has revealed that it will once again start running ticket sales operations with the end goal of supporting its affiliate partners through the use of its vast Texas retail network.

Over the course of the first week of operations, Lottery.com disclosed that it sold a whopping over seven million tickets for Texas lottery games. Right around the same time, Lottery.com also unveiled an exclusive affiliate agreement it signed together with International Gaming Alliance (IGA). The deal is centered around the supply of official Texas lottery tickets in the Dominican Republic.

As part of the affiliate deal, IGA will build Lottery.com’s ticket management platform directly into its partner’s EPOS systems. The IGA retail and online distribution network in the Dominican Republic features access to more than 1,000 retail distribution points. In terms of timing, Lottery.com hopes to start offering ticket sales during May 2023, once it successfully determines that it has completed the testing phase.

New Agreement with International Gaming Alliance (IGA) Focuses on Dominican Republic

Lottery.com chief executive Mark Gustavson celebrated the resumption of ticket sales and attributed it coming to fruition to the company’s flexibility and its strong team:

“We are making great progress as a company and it is testament to the resilience of both our operational alacrity and our people that we were able to fulfill this order in such a short time frame, after almost nine months of shut down. We are now up and running again and able to supply tickets.”Mark Gustavson, Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Lottery.com,Press Release

Gustavson continued by boasting Lottery.com’s increased production capacity thanks to its wide-reaching retail network, while also hinting at the company’s forthcoming partnership with International Gaming Alliance (IGA) in Dominican Republic:

“Our production capacity through our retail partner network has tripled; and all machines and personnel capacity has been ramped up to supply our customers. These will include our new agreement with IGA in the Dominican Republic and we hope to announce further deals in due course.”

Meanwhile, Erick Caceres, managing partner for Dominican Republic operations, expressed excitement for lottery fans in the Dominican Republic, seeing as they can now take part in one of the most beloved lottery games in the United States:

“This partnership will provide an exciting opportunity for lottery enthusiasts in the Dominican Republic to participate in one of the most popular lottery games in the US, and we look forward to delivering a seamless and secure experience through our partner retailers such as the Domloteria app and other authorized retail outlets.”Erik Caceres, Managing Partner for Dominican Republic Operations, Lottery.com,Press Release

International Game Technology (IGT) Joined Up with Betfred in Nevada in February 2023

Another major lottery operator is International Game Technology (IGT), which in February 2023 announced that it would be expanding its presence in the US betting capital of Nevada thanks to a new sports betting partnership with Betfred.

Betfred is now using IGT’s renowned PlaySports technology to run both its mobile and retail sports betting offerings, the retail portion of which is currently located at the Mohegan Sun Sportsbook inside Virgin Hotels Las Vegas. Worth noting is that this union between IGT and Betfred represents the very first IGT-powered Betfred sportsbook up and running in the United States.

Bryan Bennett, chief operating officer (COO) of Betfred USA Sports, hailed IGT’s technological and regulatory prowess, positioning it as a key driving force behind the deal in the first place:

“IGT PlaySports’ remarkable reputation and influence in the US sports betting market, coupled with their ability to navigate complex regulatory environments, give Betfred supreme confidence in our choice to partner with IGT in Nevada. IGT PlaySports’ experienced, in-market team and proven technology will enable Betfred to scale our operation in parallel with market opportunities, and to establish a competitive and engaging betting experience in the most exciting gaming destination in the world.”

IGT and Rhode Island Lottery Prolonged Contract in March 2022

In other IGT news, the lottery and gambling technology stalwart announced all the way back in March 2022 that it would be extending its contract with the Rhode Island Lottery by an impressive 20 years.

IGT’s Global Solutions Corporation subdivision will continue offering its solutions and services over the course of the deal, thereby keeping 1,100 jobs in the state up and running in the process. However, there’s a catch: IGT was forced to strike up a joint venture with Bally’s Corporation as part of the deal, as Bally’s became the exclusive supplier of video lottery terminals.

Jay Gendron, chief operating officer of global lottery at IGT, noted that the Rhode Island Lottery was in fact International Game Technology’s first-ever customer:

“IGT’s history is rooted in Rhode Island as the company is one of its most successful high-tech startups, with the Rhode Island Lottery being our very first customer. IGT’s good jobs and great people are the foundation of our success and one of the reasons why we have been able to support the Lottery in its continued evolution throughout our decades-long partnership. Over the next 20 years, we are committed to delivering unrivaled gaming experiences that engage players and drive maximum growth for Rhode Island’s third-largest revenue stream.”
