Playbetr Partners with PSG for LatAm Market
Playbetr, an online betting operator and cryptocurrency expert based in Curacao, has struck up a deal with Paris Saint-Germain, one of France’s most popular men’s soccer teams. The deal will involve Playbetr becoming PSG’s exclusive and official partner for online sports betting in the Latin American region, for an undisclosed period of time.
Perks of the Deal for Playbetr and Fans
Playbetr, which is licensed in iGaming by the Government of Curacao, stand to gain various benefits from the deal, including increased visibility to Paris Saint-Germain fans not only in France but around the world. The company, which has been mostly Latin American-facing, may stand to gain fans and opportunities as it casts a wider net with its various online gaming services.
Playbetr’s CMO Marvin Jones explained that PSG’s incredible reputation in France and beyond made them an ideal partner for the company. In the PSG press release, he shared, “In [soccer], like in betting, performance is primordial. Paris Saint-Germain have built a solid reputation of excellence both on and off the field, and we look forward to extending the brand’s influence even further across the globe.”
Likewise, PSG can look forward to a fruitful relationship with the unique online betting and crypto experts. In the same release, PSG’s chief partnerships officer Marc Armstrong stated:
“We believe that Playbetr will be an ideal partner for the club, and together we will be able to reach and further engage with our fast-growing fan base in Latin America. The unique appeal of Paris Saint-Germain and its players in the region makes the club the perfect platform for Playbetr to develop their brand.”
Beyond the promising marketing partnership, Playbetr will also have a prominent position within PSG’s Parc des Princes stadium, enjoying VIP seats, access to players during meet-and-greets, memorabilia and private parties. This is an exciting prospect for Playbetr staff as well as their partners and customers.
PSG’s stadium also recently underwent an installation of speciality screens featuring Digital Overlay technology. These LED screens allow advertisers to display specific geo-optimized ads depending on the broadcaster and their audience. Playbetr can take advantage of this, as well as the team’s social media platforms to share their offerings to PSG fans. Playbetr customers will also enjoy better odds for PSG matches under the new deal.
Playbetr Isn’t Paris Saint-Germain’s Only Big Deal
Aside from the recent deal with Playbetr, PSG has much to celebrate with its recent signing of Lionel Messi, the Argentine legend who up until recently played for Barcelona’s lauded men’s team. In his time with Barcelona, Messi played in 778 matches and scored an impressive 672 goals.
This is exciting news in the midst of a positive season for PSG, after a year that was challenging for sports teams and fans across the board. French Prime Minister édouard Philippe announced in May 2020 that all domestic soccer leagues must be cancelled due to the looming threat of the COVID-19 virus.
Now that soccer is back on, PSG are on a roll again. The team recently won the 2021 Coupe de France, otherwise known as the French Cup, for a record fourteenth winning title.
PSG is currently playing in France’s top league, Ligue 1, and celebrated a recent victory against Strasbourg on August 14th. Messi, who signed his deal only this month, is still new to the team and watched his new teammates from the stands.
Fellow Argentine and current head coach of PSG, Mauricio Pochettino explained that Messi’s health and comfort are a top priority before he gets involved in official matches.
“We will take it step by step, get to know each other and have him feel fit and comfortable so that he is able to make his debut when he is fully fit. The priority is that he is OK, feels good, and when he is in the best condition, he can play. I want to have the best players, like any coach. Everyone knows that Messi is one of the best in the world.”
Though it is unclear when exactly Messi will be back in, fans are surely anticipating the matches to come, and even a possible future stand off between Messi’s former team, Barcelona, and PSG. Messi was also present and scored one goal in the infamous La Remontada match (or, “The Comeback”) that saw Barcelona defeat PSG in the 2017 UEFA Champions League.
